Pressure Cooker

“One day you will tell your story of how you overcame what you went through and it will be someone else’s survival guide.” - Brent Brown

Let’s be real feelings can suck. Feelings can be uncomfortable and many times we believe it easier to avoid our feelings then tackle them so we shove them done and keep it rolling. ⠀

But feelings catch up to us and when we can’t take anymore we blow up. I call this a pressure cooker moment. Growing up in a Latino household mean there was an essential pressure cooker. When the pressure inside it was too much the valve on top would be raised and pressure released. ⠀

As people though we have to find other methods of coping with our emotions so our release does not end up being explosive. ⠀

1. Try by taking inventory of what your body needs⠀

2. Get some movement in to release emotions or do something relaxing ⠀

3. Journal or vent to a trusted person⠀

4. When your ready if it’s safe talk to the people around you who are adding to the stress and tell them how you feel⠀
